We tried the dating app that does things differently, here’s what we thought.

It seems like there’s a dating app for everything. From veganism to people who love dogs, the market is definitely saturated. But sometimes it’s better to take things back to basics, and that’s why we tried Inner Circle, the app that’s all about serious dating that happens IRL. 

When you sign up, you have to use a good, clear profile picture. If you don’t you won’t get on, it’s as simple as that. This might seem weird, but it means from the get go people who don’t really care about dating are weeded out. 

Once on the app, you see a different type of profile. They’re detailed, with conversation prompts that help to kick-start the conversation if you like the look of that person. What was also cool about Inner Circle was that if you type a boring ‘hi’ into the chat box, the app will automatically change it to something funny that will get the conversation going. It’s bold, but we liked it.

There’s also a whole section dedicated to getting you meeting people in real life. From first date suggestions, to guides for online dating, there is a lot there. You can even take a look at all the events that used to happen pre-covid, we’re guessing with the promise these will be back asap. 

It’s clear this app is aiming to get people together in the most effective way possible. Focusing on what’s important, and when covid allows, instigating offline meet ups.
